Chair Corps

Often, I blog about our amazing Joni and Friends volunteers—I just can’t help myself. This ministry would not function without their help. Every one of our departments depends on people willing to serve—especially Wheels for the World. Our Chair Corps team consists of over 350 volunteers, and are these people dedicated! Today, June 17, Cindy Leonard, a Chair Corp member is coordinating a wheelchair drive at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Wayland, Massachusetts. This church has financially supported Cindy’s efforts since 2002 and it doesn’t stop there. Serving Joni and Friends for the past 14 years, Cindy’s wheelchair-collection team has grown to 30 members. This group is doing all they can to bring in wheelchairs, and each one represents a changed life. Not only will the wheelchair-recipient gain mobility; they will also receive the Gospel.

So today, as Cindy and her team collect, lift, store, and transport wheelchairs, walkers, canes and crutches, remember, they are sowing into God’s kingdom. Doesn’t that just make you smile?! Pray for Cindy and her team today. And if you know someone living near Wayland, Massachusetts, tell them to drop by and give Cindy a hug!
