IFR Thailand AttendeeWhat does a disability look like overseas? For parents and grandparents in countries like Ghana, Romania, and Mexico who care for children with disabilities, life can be very hard. Providing care with few resources while confronting social stigma can be a heavy burden to carry. But they don’t have to do it alone — actually, Galatians 6:2 tells us they should not have to carry it alone; As Christians, we are called to “carry each other’s burdens, and in that way, we fulfill the law of Christ.” Through International Family Retreats, families with special needs find respite, fun, and fellowship in an environment that is safe and welcoming. It’s what families in Thailand experienced last year at our International Family Retreat held in Chiang Mai. And you, too, can get a bit of a “taste” of Family Retreats overseas by watching this wonderful video. But don’t just whet your appetite, experience it for yourself by volunteering at an International Family Retreat this year. Just click here to learn more.
