Growing Together

Preparations for Family Retreats are in full swing at Joni and Friends. Excitement is building, and so are our teams. Every year, many of the volunteers who served at past Family Retreats, sign up again. And no wonder. So many good things happen at Family Retreat. Take Ellen who is a single mom. She told me that her life was, in her words, a mess before coming to Retreat. Her daughter, Anna was born prematurely with many health complications, as well as Down syndrome. Caring for Anna single-handedly utterly depleted Ellen of any enthusiasm for life. She needed support, and God provided it through our Family Retreats.

It was there Ellen connected with other mothers, and her relationship with the Lord deepened tremendously. Ellen even discovered her purpose. And she shares it in this special video – it’s sure to inspire! If you know a special needs family who could be helped by Family Retreat, or someone who would like to volunteer (it might even be you), share this post. At Joni and Friends, we are always looking for ways to connect people to God and to each other, and Family Retreat is a great meeting place. So, come join the fun!
