For Joni, looking towards Heaven wasn’t necessarily an escape from the hard reality of life with quadriplegia, but it was a purpose and reason to persevere. She has come a great distance and leans on Jesus more than ever these days. The merciless gravity on her aging and paralyzed body, her life-threatening battle with stage three cancer and now living daily with chronic pain has given her great insight – “My earthly life looks differently to me now and so does heaven.”
