Can you imagine what it would be like to be told your daughter will live the rest of her life in a wheelchair? For Joni’s parents, those first few years of Joni’s paralysis were filled with questions, doubts, and fears aimed at doctors and God. After all, quadriplegia was something completely new and unknown to this family. So, how did they make it through? In this short video clip, you’ll hear Lindy and John Eareckson talk about those early days of Joni’s accident. It’s a video that will inspire you and others to trust in the Lord, no matter what the situation.

Wow about a year or so ago I e-mailed you about a song I was trying to find on the internet. The Internet (Jesus) sent me to your site. Your mom was singing the song Some Day He'll Make it Plain. I think I told you How I was out of hope. Bullying by many! In the last few months I have been learning to be friends with Jesus. Today Jesus guided me to a book called Hope By Joni. Thank you so much. Later I got on your site and was led to how your parents kept their hope. There was Your Mom singing "Some Day He'll make it Plain" again, the song my Mom wanted. I did find the music in two different places and sang it with my Mom who now in the middle stages of dementia. The booklet and this song are so true. Someday I'll understand and Hope is the best of things Thanks Sandy

As I watched this clip I thought of all the answered prayers your parents received- even more than they asked for! What a blessing and also an encouragement for me as I've spent much time in prayer for my kids. Thankful for you and your ministry Joni.

Joni, I read The God I Love. What inspiration and comfort! Many understand that we all face difficulties. However,God guides us in mysterious ways to help us pull through. Thank you for sharing, and helping others to live God's way to the fullest.

Hi Joni, I read your book while I was a teenager living in Malaysia and was amazed at how God used you as His instrument. I can see how your parents had a role to play in all that. Recently I found you on the internet and am using your daily devotional to encourage me as a mother of three. Thanks and keep going for The Lord! You are a blessing to many and to me too :)

After using your daily readings and seeing how much you love hymns, love the word, trust the Lord, I can hear and see your legacy comes from your natural parents who love and trust God. Jeremiah 1:5 and Ephesians 1:1-6 & many other passages that God is Sovereign, He chose us & planned good works for us before we were born. Thank you Joni for the journey that changed you into a woman who loves God with heart and soul, mind and strength, who searches for the riches in in His word and is empowered by His love and presence in your life and for all those who help you get through each day. Thank you for writing down those treasures which build me up and encourage me to do the good works God planned for me. Thank you also for those you help, who you take wheelchairs to across the world, may God bless you today and every day of your life until you stand before Him. Love you lots in Christ.

I needed this perspective right now. Praise God for godly parents who were clearly, anchors who you could count on.

I am so glad you had such important back up for those black times. When someone can turn your eyes back to God at times like that, it makes it easier to bear the load

Joni, that must be wonderful to have captured your parents talking about you. I've almost forgotten my parents' voices. This shows their love for you.
