5,000 wheelchairs restored Arizona State Prison!

Every year, our Wheels for the World teams travel to countries like India, El Salvador, China and Ghana — providing wheelchairs and Bibles to adults and children with disabilities. Hundreds of thousands have received the gift of mobility and the hope of Jesus, but none of it could be done without the help of prisoners. That’s because every used wheelchair that is collected makes its way to correctional facilities, where prisoners work hard at restoring them to like-new condition — including Arizona State Prison in Kingman, where just recently its Wheels for the World restoration center celebrated its 5000th wheelchair restored! That’s 5000 lives changed; 5000 families helped! What’s more? The lives of prisoners are transformed, as well. In a recent news article highlighting ASP, Kingman’s milestone, a prisoner and participant of the program said, “Wheels for the World means a lot to me. I have worked in this shop for three years and have seen firsthand how much good this place creates. It has given me an opportunity to right some of the wrongs I have done and I know that what I have done here makes a difference in the world.”
